Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4 Delivers Meaningful Performance Gains
For years, PC players have grown wary of patch notes promising optimization improvements that rarely translated into real world gains. Monster Hunter Wilds has been no exception, with performance concerns lingering long after launch. With Title Update 4 set to roll out tomorrow, CAPCOM’s claim of over 100 performance improvements understandably raised skepticism. However, newly released official comparison footage confirms that this update delivers tangible and much needed results.
CAPCOM has published two side by side performance comparison videos showcasing Monster Hunter Wilds running on its recommended PC configurations as listed on the official Steam page. These comparisons highlight performance differences between Title Update 3 and Title Update 4 across three demanding encounters against Arkveld, Xu Wu, and Lagiacrus.

Across both systems and all three encounters, Title Update 4 demonstrates clear performance gains. During the Arkveld fight, the first configuration improves from an average of around 40 FPS in Title Update 3 to approximately 50 FPS in Title Update 4. The second configuration sees a comparable uplift, confirming that the improvements are not vendor specific. Beyond raw frame rate increases, frame pacing and overall stability have also been noticeably improved, reducing stutter during heavy combat sequences and making extended play sessions far more consistent.
These changes suggest that CAPCOM has addressed deeper engine level bottlenecks rather than applying surface level tweaks. For PC players who struggled with unstable performance during intense monster encounters, Title Update 4 represents the most impactful optimization pass the game has received to date.
Importantly, this update is not the end of CAPCOM’s optimization roadmap. Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to receive additional enhancements in January and February, culminating in the final Title Update across all platforms. This release will coincide with the game’s first anniversary, indicating that CAPCOM is taking long term performance stability seriously as the title approaches its next phase of support.
For the PC community, Title Update 4 marks a turning point. After months of uncertainty, Monster Hunter Wilds is finally moving toward the smooth and stable experience players expected from the start.
Have you noticed the performance improvements after testing Title Update 4, and do you feel CAPCOM has finally delivered on its optimization promises?
