The iconic mech warfare universe continues to expand as Piranha Games announces MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries – Shadows of Kerensky, a new DLC that will officially launch in September 2025 at a price of $19.99. This expansion places players in the heart of the Clan Invasion, offering a gritty new perspective as seen through the eyes of a seasoned mercenary company.
Unlike MechWarrior 5: Clans—which launched in October 2024 and explored the invasion from the Clan side using Unreal Engine 5—Shadows of Kerensky returns to the Unreal Engine 4-powered world of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, focusing on a more grounded, Inner Sphere-based narrative.
A Campaign of Resistance Amid Invasion
Set during one of the most pivotal moments in BattleTech lore, players will step into the boots of a mercenary commander hired by the Rasalhague Republic to help resist the sudden onslaught of the Clans. What begins as a seemingly routine contract quickly escalates into a life-or-death struggle against technologically superior enemies. The DLC features a handcrafted 12-mission story campaign, complete with cinematics, mission briefings, and intense tactical battles against elite Clan forces.
