Lords of the Fallen II Will Not Follow Political Correctness, Confirms CI Games CEO as New Gameplay Trailer Debuts
CI Games officially unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Lords of the Fallen II at The Game Awards 2025, reaffirming the previously announced 2026 release window. The reveal highlighted several mechanical and structural upgrades aimed at addressing long standing player feedback, while also drawing attention to notable philosophical shifts guiding the sequel’s development.
The new gameplay footage, showcases a newly introduced dismemberment system designed to allow players to neutralize enemies more decisively. This mechanic is supported by a range of new execution animations that further refine combat flow and visual impact. According to the accompanying press materials, the sequel will also feature a broader variety of enemy types and boss encounters, with complexity intended to challenge even the most experienced players across solo play, shared progression cooperative modes, and optional PvP multiplayer.
Beyond mechanical changes, Lords of the Fallen II is also undergoing a shift in creative direction. CI Games chief executive officer Marek Tyminski addressed these changes directly in a public post on X, explaining his increased involvement in the project since late 2024. Tyminski stated that early development decisions at Hexworks were made during a period when the studio operated with significant autonomy, resulting in choices influenced by political correctness that did not always reach executive oversight in time.
According to Tyminski, the studio has since been fully integrated under CI Games, with leadership now more directly involved in day to day creative decisions. He confirmed that several earlier design choices have been reversed and emphasized that Lords of the Fallen II is now being built squarely around player feedback, a direction he says is already evident in the last two trailers.
The discussion gained further attention when Tyminski responded to questions regarding character presentation. In a follow up post on X, he confirmed that the sequel will feature attractive female characters and revealing armor designs. He also addressed another major criticism of the original game, stating that enemy placement will be significantly improved in the sequel.
Alongside the sequel’s reveal, CI Games and developer Hexworks released a substantial update for Lords of the Fallen 2023. This update introduces extensive behavior revisions for enemies and bosses across the entire game, increasing overall challenge and encounter variety. Several boss weapons now include new signature attack animations, while Veteran Mode has been further enhanced with faster phase transitions, more aggressive artificial intelligence behavior, and additional attack patterns.
Taken together, the Lords of the Fallen II reveal and the latest updates to its predecessor signal a clear effort by CI Games to realign the franchise with its core audience. By combining mechanical refinements, expanded combat depth, and a more direct response to community concerns, the sequel is positioning itself as both a technical and philosophical evolution of the series.
