Lies of P Headlines August 2025’s PlayStation Plus Essential Games Lineup

PlayStation has officially revealed August 2025’s PS Plus Essential games, and leading the charge is none other than Lies of P, the acclaimed soulslike action-RPG from Round8 Studio. This hauntingly beautiful reimagining of the Pinocchio tale comes complete with a native PlayStation 5 version, making it the standout title in this month’s lineup.

Joining Lies of P are two diverse and genre-defining titles. First is DayZ, the brutal open-world zombie survival game that continues to challenge players with its hardcore mechanics and emergent PvP experiences. Then there's My Hero One's Justice 2, a fast-paced 3D arena fighter that brings the beloved characters of My Hero Academia to life with explosive superpowers and stylized combat.

All three games will be available to redeem for PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium members starting August 5, 2025. This also means players have until August 4, 2025 to grab the outgoing titles “Diablo IV, Jusant, and The King of Fighters XV” before they rotate out.

The inclusion of Lies of P is particularly well-timed. With the recent release of its DLC expansion, Lies of P: Overture, interest in the game has reignited. Now, PlayStation Plus subscribers can get the base game at no additional cost and potentially pick up the new content at a discount. It's an enticing offer for fans of FromSoftware-style games who have yet to dive into the game's grim and mechanical world.

Which of these titles will you be adding to your library? Are you jumping into Lies of P for the first time or revisiting it for the new DLC? Let us know!
