Lies of P Director Teases Sequel and Promises It “Will Not Disappoint You At All”
The director of the critically acclaimed soulslike Lies of P has offered an exciting tease regarding the future of the franchise. According to director Choi Ji won, players can expect a sequel that will not disappoint in any way.
Speaking with GamesRadar after Lies of P won the Best Game Expansion award at The Golden Joystick Awards 2025, Choi reflected on the franchise’s success and the ongoing efforts of co developers Round8 and Neowiz. He emphasized that the team is committed to delivering an experience that surpasses expectations.
“You can expect the most fun that we can achieve within the game,” Choi said during the interview. He added a direct message to fans: “Please stay tuned for it. We are working really hard, and I will not disappoint you at all.”
While Choi did not go into detail about the sequel itself, the timing of his comments and the context of the award ceremony strongly suggest that the next Lies of P entry is well underway. Earlier this year, the Overture expansion was released and was developed with the same level of attention and scope as a full sequel. This further fuels speculation that the next numbered entry may evolve even more significantly, potentially expanding on themes, mechanics and worldbuilding introduced in both the base game and the expansion.
Lies of P became one of the most celebrated non FromSoftware soulslikes ever released, praised for its atmosphere, combat design and reinterpretation of the Pinocchio mythos. With the director now openly reassuring players about the team’s ambitions, expectations for the sequel are already building rapidly.
Fans of the genre may not have to wait long before official details surface, as Neowiz continues to invest heavily in the franchise and its future direction.
Do you think the Lies of P sequel can elevate the franchise to the same level as the top FromSoftware titles
