Konami Wants to Know Which Metal Gear Solid Game Should Be Remade Next
Fresh off the successful release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami is already looking ahead to the franchise’s future. A new survey has surfaced, asking fans which Metal Gear or Metal Gear Solid game they’d most like to see remade next.
The survey, spotted by Metal Gear Network on X and hosted on Questant, is written entirely in Japanese, but its intent is clear: Konami is gauging fan interest to help guide the next chapter of remakes.

Fans are asked to choose from a list of series entries, or suggest another title:
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Other (with a free-text field to write in a choice)
The survey arrives at a pivotal moment for the franchise. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launched with strong momentum, selling over 1 million copies in its first day and earning positive reviews from critics and players alike. The game was arguably the riskiest entry to remake, given how highly fans regard MGS3, but Konami seems to have delivered.
Meanwhile, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is also on the horizon, bringing MGS4, Peace Walker, and MGSV to modern hardware in their original forms. However, these are not remakes. just ports and repackaged releases.
This raises particular intrigue around MGS4, which has been locked to the PlayStation 3 since 2008. Fans have long debated how Konami could revisit it, whether through a straight port, remaster, or full remake.
With MGS3’s remake proving both commercially and critically successful, Konami is now in a position to build momentum. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid are obvious contenders for remakes, but Peace Walker and MGS4 also remain high on fan wishlists.
As with Silent Hill 2, Konami seems intent on carefully selecting which classics to reintroduce and how. The survey signals that fan feedback could help determine which direction they take next.
Which Metal Gear entry would you want remade after Snake Eater? Should Konami tackle MGS4 to finally free it from PS3 exclusivity, or go back to where it all began with MGS1?
