Kingdom Hearts IV Steam Leak Appears to Reveal Star Wars World
A major Steam achievement leak appears to have spoiled one of Square Enix and Disney's biggest surprises for Kingdom Hearts IV, with achievement data strongly pointing toward the long requested arrival of Star Wars alongside several additional Disney worlds that have not yet been officially revealed.
The information emerged from the wider Steam achievement leak that exposed private achievement data for numerous unreleased games. Kingdom Hearts IV is among the most significant affected titles, with a reported 50 achievements revealing world names, progression objectives and other potentially substantial story information. Square Enix has not officially confirmed the leaked content, meaning the information should continue to be treated as unofficial despite the specificity of the achievement data.
The biggest discovery is a world identified as Galaxy Far, Far Away, an unmistakable reference to Star Wars. One achievement called "Desert Do Gooder" reportedly requires players to complete every request within Galaxy Far, Far Away, while another called "May the Light Be with You" appears to reference the franchise's iconic Force terminology. Together, the achievement names provide the strongest evidence yet that Star Wars will finally enter Kingdom Hearts.
Star Wars has been one of the most frequently requested additions to Kingdom Hearts since Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. Square Enix has never officially announced the franchise for Kingdom Hearts IV, although speculation intensified following the game's original reveal after fans believed they had identified imagery resembling the forest moon of Endor. The leaked achievement data now provides substantially more tangible evidence, although the exact Star Wars era, characters and storyline remain unknown.
The leak appears to expose considerably more than Star Wars. Achievement names also reference Haunted Mansion, Savanna Central, Toy Box, Land of the Dead, Monochrome Origins, Scala ad Caelum, Quadratum and an Imagineer Planet. Savanna Central strongly points toward Zootopia, while Toy Box represents the return of Toy Story. Haunted Mansion appears connected to Disney's famous attraction and film property. Monochrome Origins remains less certain, although its name could indicate a world inspired by Disney's earliest animated history. Imagineer Planet is similarly unclear and could have connections to Disney's theme park heritage, but that interpretation remains speculative.
Land of the Dead is already official. Square Enix previously confirmed that Disney and Pixar's Coco will appear in Kingdom Hearts IV, with the colorful afterlife becoming one of Sora's destinations. The reveal arrived alongside confirmation that Kingdom Hearts IV is targeting late 2027, with the game planned for PC and current generation consoles. Coco had previously been the only newly confirmed Disney world, making the leaked achievement information particularly damaging to Square Enix's future reveal strategy.
Importantly, the achievement leak does not confirm how these locations will function inside the finished game. Some could represent full worlds, smaller areas, missions or content whose implementation changes before release. The leaked data also contains significant story information beyond the world names, so players hoping to experience Kingdom Hearts IV without major spoilers should be particularly cautious when viewing complete achievement databases.
Star Wars joining Kingdom Hearts feels like one of those collaborations that was eventually inevitable, but the way it appears to have been revealed is unfortunate for Square Enix. Disney has spent years expanding the range of properties available to the series, and Star Wars represents one of the largest franchises that Kingdom Hearts has never officially touched.
More importantly, the leak potentially removes the impact of several future marketing reveals at once. Star Wars alone could have anchored an entire trailer, while Zootopia, Haunted Mansion and the return of Toy Story would each generate substantial attention independently. Square Enix can still surprise players with how these worlds look and how Sora interacts with them, but the achievement exposure may have already revealed much of the roadmap the publisher intended to unveil gradually.
Would Star Wars be the biggest Disney crossover Kingdom Hearts has ever received, and which character would you most want Sora to encounter in Galaxy Far, Far Away?
