Kingdom Come Deliverance Next Gen Update Brings 60FPS Boost and Ultra Quality Settings to PS5 and Xbox Series X and S

Warhorse Studios has officially rolled out the long rumored Next Gen Update for Kingdom Come Deliverance on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, giving Henry’s original journey a much needed technical glow up for current generation consoles.

The original release built a loyal fanbase by delivering one of the most immersive medieval open world role playing experiences in years, even if its performance on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One often asked players to tolerate heavy frame drops, especially in dense towns and during demanding weather effects like rain.

With today’s update, console players can finally experience the game much closer to its best case presentation. Warhorse says the upgrade delivers a meaningful performance leap with up to 60 frames per second, ultra quality settings brought over from the PC version, improved visual assets, and a 1440p render that is upscaled to a 4K output. The update is free for all existing owners, and cross generation save transfers are supported, making it easy for returning players to jump back in without losing progress.

The headline is the framerate uplift. Kingdom Come Deliverance always lived and died by immersion. When framerate instability hits during city traversal, large scale encounters, or heavy weather, it does not just reduce responsiveness. It breaks the vibe, and this game’s entire value proposition is vibe, authenticity, and presence. A stable high performance mode fundamentally changes how the combat, exploration, and moment to moment traversal feels.

If Warhorse has delivered consistent 60FPS in the places where last gen struggled most, this is the kind of upgrade that turns a respected cult favorite into an easy recommendation for anyone who bounced off it years ago due to performance friction.

What is your plan with the update, fresh playthrough, or a save transfer to finally finish Henry’s story at full speed?
