IO Interactive Launches New Beyond the Light Video Series Offering Behind the Scenes Look at 007 First Light
IO Interactive is accelerating toward the global debut of 007 First Light, its highly anticipated James Bond title set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S on March 27, 2026. As momentum builds, the studio has introduced a new behind the scenes video series titled Beyond the Light on the official game channel. The series aims to showcase the creative vision, technical ambition, and design philosophy behind this next evolution of the Bond franchise.
The first episode features developer insights from gameplay director Andreas Krogh and senior level designer Thomas Pulluello. Their commentary provides a granular look at the gameplay foundations shaping Bond’s latest adventure, including combat philosophy, narrative pacing, and environmental interaction.
This new video series follows IO Interactive’s recent appearance during Xbox’s Partner Preview event where the studio confirmed that 007 First Light will include Bond’s iconic silver Aston Martin Valhalla fitted with next generation espionage enhancements from Q. The reveal reinforced IOI’s commitment to authenticity while modernizing the Bond universe with cutting edge hardware and cinematic mission design.
Beyond the Light also marks the beginning of IO Interactive’s promotional campaign for what will be its first major release since Hitman 3 launched in 2021. The studio is entering an active multi project phase as it ramps production on several new titles. In addition to 007 First Light, IO Interactive has confirmed development of a new internal IP alongside its already announced fantasy role playing game. Meanwhile, the Hitman franchise will continue with new content in the future. These combined efforts mean IOI now has three major properties concurrently in development.
With 007 First Light nearing completion, the coming year is expected to be a defining moment for IO Interactive as it prepares to ship the Bond project and shift greater focus toward its next wave of titles. Fans can expect more details throughout 2025 as the studio transitions from release execution to its longer range roadmap.
