I Hate This Place Debuts First Gameplay Trailer – ’80s-Inspired Isometric Survival Horror Launching Q4 2025
Broken Mirror Games and publisher Skybound Games, the new publishing label under horror veterans Bloober Team, have released the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming title I Hate This Place, an isometric survival horror game drenched in gritty 1980s aesthetics and intense survival gameplay.
The newly revealed footage, offers just over a minute of gameplay, giving players their first extended look at the game's unsettling tone, lighting, and mechanics. True to its source material, the trailer includes subtle callbacks to the comic series the game is based on, such as the little creature Thud appearing behind the player’s footsteps, adding a layer of character to its eerie and off-kilter ambiance.
For those unfamiliar, I Hate This Place is set to follow Elena, the main protagonist, who finds herself trapped in a nightmarish reality after inadvertently summoning an ancient force beyond comprehension. The game builds on classic survival horror mechanics, but its isometric view and stylized retro visuals set it apart in a crowded genre. Expect a fusion of exploration, resource management, and tense evasion against grotesque enemies lurking in every shadow.
Originally announced earlier this year, I Hate This Place is still on track for a Q4 2025 release. When it launches, it will be available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, bringing a terrifying tale of survival to every major gaming platform.
