HipHopGamer Claims GTA 6 User Generated Content Could Create Millionaires, but Rockstar Still Has Not Confirmed the Plan

Rockstar Games has still not lifted the curtain on many of Grand Theft Auto VI’s biggest unanswered questions, but a new interview is adding more fuel to one of the most intriguing rumors around the game: the possibility that GTA 6 could become a major platform for user generated content, or UGC. In a recent PC Gamer interview published on April 8, 2026, content creator and media personality HipHopGamer said that GTA 6 will be so significant in the creator economy that it could “produce millionaires,” while also suggesting Rockstar is building the game around a broader UGC ecosystem.

That is a massive claim, and it deserves to be framed carefully. HipHopGamer’s comments are not an official Rockstar announcement, nor do they confirm a specific creator revenue model, but they do line up with earlier reporting that Rockstar had been exploring a more creator driven future for GTA. In the PC Gamer interview, HipHopGamer says Rockstar is investing in GTA 6 as an ecosystem and marketplace built around user generated content, and argues that players have “seen nothing yet” compared with what happened around GTA 5 roleplay and custom servers.

The most important context here is that this is not the first time GTA 6 has been linked to a deeper creator strategy. Back in February 2025, Digiday reported that Rockstar had held meetings with top creators from Roblox, Fortnite, and the GTA modding scene to discuss the possibility of creating custom experiences within GTA 6. A follow up GameSpot report summarized those claims and noted that Rockstar was reportedly exploring creator built experiences rather than just a traditional closed online model. None of that confirmed monetization at the time, but it did suggest Rockstar was seriously evaluating a much bigger UGC push for the next game.

That is why HipHopGamer’s “produce millionaires” quote is getting attention. The idea is not just that players will be able to mod or roleplay, because that already exists in various forms around GTA 5. The implication is that Rockstar could be building something more structured, more official, and potentially more lucrative for creators, especially if custom experiences can be monetized or supported through a formal ecosystem. That part remains speculative, because neither Rockstar nor Take Two has publicly confirmed a revenue sharing framework for GTA 6 creators.

There is another reason this rumor feels more plausible than it might have a few years ago. In August 2023, Rockstar officially announced that Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, had joined Rockstar Games. Rockstar described Cfx.re at the time as being behind the biggest Rockstar roleplay and creator communities, which made the move feel like more than just a community management decision. It looked like a strategic investment in the future of Rockstar’s creator ecosystem. If GTA 6 is indeed moving toward more official custom experiences, that acquisition now looks even more relevant.

The PC Gamer interview also includes another smaller tease that has drawn interest, with HipHopGamer claiming there is a side mission tied to a major rapper. PC Gamer notes that fans have already started connecting that statement to Freddie Gibbs, partly because of his links to Rockstar’s broader musical orbit and because of a separate pop culture incident involving CM Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks. Even so, that remains interpretation rather than confirmation. There is no official Rockstar announcement tying Gibbs, or any other rapper, to a GTA 6 mission at this stage.

What makes the UGC angle more important than the celebrity tease is its long term business impact. If Rockstar really is building GTA 6 to support creator made experiences at scale, then the next Grand Theft Auto may function less like a single game and more like a platform. That would fit broader industry trends where publishers increasingly want ecosystems that keep players, creators, brands, and communities circulating inside the same product for years. It would also explain why Rockstar might be taking so long to reveal the full scope of GTA 6 beyond the core campaign. This is an inference based on HipHopGamer’s comments, earlier Digiday reporting, and Rockstar’s Cfx.re acquisition, not a confirmed Rockstar product roadmap.

For now, the key takeaway is simple. The idea that GTA 6 could heavily embrace user generated content is not coming out of nowhere anymore. There is now a chain of signals around it, including prior reporting on creator meetings, Rockstar’s FiveM related acquisition, and new claims from HipHopGamer. But until Rockstar itself speaks plainly about what GTA 6’s creator tools, monetization options, and PC ecosystem actually look like, this remains one of the biggest and most interesting rumors surrounding the game rather than established fact.

What do you think would be bigger for GTA 6 in the long run: a stronger single player campaign, or an official creator ecosystem that turns the game into a true long term platform?
