Forza Horizon 6 PC Specs Revealed With Targets Ranging From 1080p 60 FPS to 4K Upscaled Ray Tracing
Playground Games has officially shared the detailed PC system requirements for Forza Horizon 6, giving players a much clearer idea of what kind of hardware will be needed to run the game across multiple visual targets before its May launch. The requirements were published through the official Forza Horizon account and line up with the game’s previously confirmed release timing and platform plans on the official Forza Horizon 6 page. The game launches on May 19, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Premium Edition early access starting May 15.
The new spec breakdown is divided into 4 categories: Minimum, Recommended, Extreme, and Extreme RT. That gives players a more realistic way to judge performance expectations than the usual single minimum and recommended split. On the low end, Playground targets 1080p at 60 FPS on the Low preset with hardware such as a GeForce GTX 1650, Radeon RX 6500 XT, or Intel Arc A380. At the top end, the Extreme RT profile aims for 4K upscaled at 60 FPS or higher with ray tracing enabled, using hardware such as an RTX 5070 Ti or Radeon RX 9070 XT. Based on the published chart, the requirements look demanding but not unreasonable for a major 2026 open world racing release. The floor is still accessible to older systems, while the ray traced 4K target is clearly positioned for high end builds. The official Forza site also confirms the PC version supports ultrawide displays, uncapped framerates, and ray traced features.

Playground Games also confirmed the key PC features arriving at launch, and this is where the release looks especially strong. Forza Horizon 6 will support NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 3 and 4, and Intel XeSS 2.1, alongside high uncapped framerates, ultrawide monitor support, ray traced reflections, ray traced global illumination, robust controller and wheel support, plus compatibility with Steam Deck and Xbox ROG Ally. On the official game page, Microsoft also highlights 4K HDR visuals, solo and co op play, more than 550 real world cars, and what it calls the most dense Horizon map yet, set across Japan.
Forza Horizon 6 unleashes the power and flexibility of the PC platform with 4K HDR visuals, enhanced ray tracing features, and high uncapped framerates.

From a hardware planning perspective, the most notable part of the requirements may be how well they scale. The Minimum and Recommended tiers remain very approachable for mainstream PC users, while the Extreme tiers clearly separate premium image quality and ray tracing into a higher bracket. That is the kind of tiering PC players usually want to see, especially in a large open world racing game where smooth performance matters as much as visual spectacle. It also helps that the official page confirms Steam, Microsoft Store, PC Game Pass, and later PS5 support, giving the game a much broader launch footprint than earlier entries in the series.
If these targets hold up in final testing, Forza Horizon 6 could end up being one of the more well balanced PC racing launches of the year. The feature set is modern, the spec chart is unusually detailed, and the range from older GPUs to high end ray tracing setups suggests Playground is trying to cover the market carefully rather than only chasing ultra premium hardware.
Are your current PC specs enough for the version of Forza Horizon 6 you want to play, or is this looking like a full upgrade year for your racing setup?
