Fellowship Early Access Delayed One Week to Avoid Battlefield 6, Open Beta Begins September 18
Chief Rebel and Arc Games have announced a slight delay for the early access launch of Fellowship, the upcoming “multiplayer online dungeon adventure game.” Originally scheduled for October 9, the game will now arrive on October 16, 2025, exclusively on Steam.
In a video update, Community Director Hamish Bode explained the reasoning behind the one-week delay. Beyond giving the team additional time to polish and finalize major changes discovered during private playtests, Bode admitted that the studio also wanted to avoid launching in the same crowded release window as Battlefield 6 and other major titles.
“That week is absolutely stacked with games. You’ve got things like Battlefield 6 launching. I know people are looking at Legion Remix as well. It’s just kind of a smart decision for us to push a week and give Fellowship the best possibility of getting recognized and hopefully getting the attention that I think we all agree that it deserves.”
Ahead of early access, Fellowship will hold an Open Beta on Steam running from Thursday, September 18 to Tuesday, September 23, with servers open from 10 AM PT each day. Supported regions include North America, Europe, and Asia.
The beta will allow players to try out seven heroes: two tanks, three DPS, and two healers. Content will include dungeon runs (both ranked and quick play), new loot systems, and challenging encounters. Compared to the Steam Next Fest demo in February, the beta will feature several new and refined systems:
Improved matchmaking and group finding
Expanded progression system with weapons, gems, talents, crafting, and legendary items
New dungeon: Urrak Markets
Cosmetic customization options
New gear, mounts, and visual upgrades
Refinements to existing gameplay mechanics based on player feedback
The Open Beta also provides the development team with an opportunity to stress-test the improved multiplayer matchmaking ahead of the early access launch.
With its mix of cooperative dungeon crawling, progression systems, and MMO-style customization, Fellowship aims to carve out a space in the competitive online RPG genre. The short delay may give it a better shot at standing out among the season’s major releases.
Will you be jumping into the Fellowship Open Beta later this month, or waiting for the early access launch in October?
