Fallout TV Series Renewed for Season 3, Season 2 Arrives This December with First New Vegas Teaser

Amazon has officially greenlit a third season of the Fallout TV series, with the highly anticipated second season confirmed to premiere in December 2025 on Prime Video. The announcement was made during Amazon's Upfront presentation at New York’s Beacon Theater, alongside a gripping teaser trailer offering the first glimpse of New Vegas in live-action.

“We’re Ending the World All Over Again”

The Fallout series, which debuted to rave reviews and massive streaming success earlier this year, is proving to be one of Amazon’s most valuable adaptations. Vernon Sanders, global head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed enthusiasm for the show's success and future:

“We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout. Jonah Nolan, Lisa Joy, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and Graham Wagner have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video.”

Executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who have helmed numerous acclaimed sci-fi projects, added their signature humor to the announcement:

“The holidays came a little early this year – we are thrilled to be ending the world all over again for a third season of Fallout. On behalf of our brilliant cast and crew, our showrunners Geneva and Graham, and our partners at Bethesda, we’re grateful to our incredible collaborators at Amazon MGM Studios and to the amazing fans as we continue our adventures in the wasteland together.”

Meanwhile, showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner celebrated the renewal:

“We’re so grateful to have survived the apocalypse for another season! Thanks to the incredible team — our whole cast and crew, Kilter, and Amazon.”

Welcome to New Vegas

The teaser trailer for Fallout Season 2 introduces the iconic setting of New Vegas, a familiar yet changed wasteland locale beloved by fans of Fallout: New Vegas (2010). While the show’s timeline is set fifteen years after the events of the game, the creators promise an evolved version of the famed city. The brief teaser hints at both visual grandeur and narrative tension, with viewers catching their first glimpse of what could be a decayed and reformed version of the Mojave Wasteland.

Amazon has yet to confirm a specific day for the season two release, but with December officially locked in, fans can prepare to return to the irradiated wilds just in time for the holidays.

Fallout’s Streaming Power and Legacy

The Fallout series has been instrumental in driving renewed interest in the game franchise, with Fallout: New Vegas and other titles seeing a surge in players on platforms like Steam following the show’s first season premiere. Given the show's quality and popularity, Season 2 is expected to further elevate the franchise’s cultural footprint, especially with New Vegas now center stage.
