Fallout Season 2 Premieres December 17 on Prime Video with First Trailer at Gamescom ONL
During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, host Geoff Keighley welcomed Fallout Prime Video producer Jonathan Nolan, showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and stars Ella Purnell (Lucy) and Aaron Moten (Maximus) to the stage to officially debut the first teaser trailer for Fallout Season 2. The much-anticipated continuation of Prime Video’s post-apocalyptic hit will premiere on December 17, 2025.
Fallout: New Vegas Inspirations and New Story Arcs
Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet revealed that Season 2 will take viewers to some of the most beloved locations from Fallout: New Vegas, a move that has already stirred excitement among longtime fans of the franchise.
Ella Purnell shared that her character Lucy faces a pivotal choice when she finally finds her father: bring him back to the Vault to face justice, or deliver the harsher justice of the wasteland. Walton Goggins’ character, The Ghoul (Cooper Howard), will play a major role in shaping Lucy’s journey while also continuing his own dual storyline, with flashbacks to his life before the bombs dropped and the conspiracy he uncovers in the old world.
Aaron Moten spoke about Maximus’s arc, pointing out that his dream of becoming a Knight of the Brotherhood of Steel may not turn out as glorious as he imagined, describing it as a “be careful what you wish for” scenario.
Returning Cast and Expanding Lore
One of the highlights for Season 2 will be exploring the evolving dynamic between Lucy and The Ghoul, alongside deeper insight into Cooper Howard’s past life. With the Brotherhood of Steel rising in prominence and the looming moral dilemmas for Lucy, the show seems poised to balance personal character drama with the expansive lore that Fallout fans cherish.
The teaser trailer is already drawing attention for its numerous nods to Fallout: New Vegas, a game often considered a standout in the series. Whether Season 2 will achieve the same level of success as the first season remains to be seen, but anticipation is higher than ever.
