EA and Full Circle Dive Into What Skate Will Include at Launch and Reveal Its Early Access Roadmap

EA and Full Circle have confirmed that Skate will officially enter early access on September 16, 2025, across PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Alongside this reveal, the developers also shared a detailed development update that breaks down what content will be available at launch, as well as the early access roadmap.

Perhaps the most important takeaway from the roadmap is what it does not contain — there is no defined 1.0 release date yet. Instead, EA and Full Circle are committing to a seasonal update model, with the first season scheduled to arrive in October 2025.

Seasonal Content Roadmap

According to the update, each season will introduce “new skateable areas, new challenges, new seasonal events, new brand partners, new cosmetics, new tracks added to the soundtrack, bug fixes, and quality of life updates.”

  • Season 1 (October 2025): Skate’s first battle pass, simply called the Skate Pass, will launch alongside seasonal events including a Halloween event.

  • Season 2 (December 2025): Adds co-op gameplay, improvements to the video editor, and new tricks, alongside the standard seasonal refresh.

  • Season 3 (2026): Introduces new game modes, leaderboards, deeper skater customization, player-created parks, and additional tricks.

Between launch on September 16 and the arrival of Season 1 in October, players will have the chance to reacquaint themselves with Skate. The game’s iconic flick-it control system has been rebuilt in the Frostbite engine, aiming to preserve the unique style that made the series so beloved. To help players master the mechanics, a built-in Skatepedia will serve as a guide to tricks and techniques available at launch.

For those who participated in the insider playtesting phase, the early access build is already live. For everyone else, Skate will be available to download for free on September 16.

Do you think EA’s live service approach to Skate will keep players hooked long-term, or are you worried it’ll focus too much on monetization over gameplay?
