Dying Light: The Beast Delayed by Four Weeks, Now Launching September 19
Techland has officially delayed the release of Dying Light: The Beast, the latest installment in its acclaimed open-world action-adventure franchise. Originally slated for launch on August 22, the game will now be released on September 19, 2025. The Polish studio cited the need for additional polishing and refinement as the primary reason for the four-week delay.
In a message to the community, the development team stated:
"It has always been our goal to make Dying Light: The Beast the best Dying Light game we’ve ever released. To honor this promise, we’ve made the decision to move the release date to September 19, 2025 to allow for extra polishing work."
The team acknowledged the potential disappointment this may cause but emphasized the critical importance of a strong first impression. Drawing from their experience with Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which had a mixed reception at launch, Techland aims to avoid repeating that scenario. While the studio ultimately improved Stay Human through years of updates and support, its launch struggles had a lasting impact on its reputation.
This time, Techland is taking a more cautious approach, ensuring the game meets expectations from day one. The final development phase will focus on balancing gameplay mechanics, enhancing UI clarity, refining physics, tweaking player animations, and polishing cutscenes. The studio believes that this final stretch of development will elevate the experience from "good to great."
While delays can be frustrating, this brief extension signals Techland’s commitment to delivering a high-quality, immersive, and technically polished entry that lives up to the franchise’s legacy.
