Diablo IV Season 14 Launches June 30 With a Free Warlock Class Trial

Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed Diablo IV Season 14, titled Season of Death Awakening, which launches on June 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The new season introduces Pandemonium Ruptures, Mythic Uniques 3.0, the full release of the Tower and Leaderboards, Solo Self Found support, expanded seasonal progression, major crafting updates, and a collaboration with Overwatch. Players will also receive temporary access to the Warlock, one of the 2 classes introduced with the Lord of Hatred expansion.

The free Warlock trial begins alongside the new season on June 30 and remains available through July 7 at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation. During the trial, Diablo IV players can develop a Warlock character up to level 30 and experience the class without owning Lord of Hatred. Anyone who later purchases the expansion can continue progressing with the same character, preserving the levels and equipment earned during the trial. The Warlock uses forbidden knowledge to bind demons and manipulate the powers of Hell, offering an alternative to the holy combat style of the Paladin.

Season of Death Awakening takes place after the defeat of Mephisto and introduces a new Death Cult operating from Zarbinzet. Dark rituals are opening Pandemonium Ruptures throughout Sanctuary, with the events appearing most frequently inside Helltide zones. Players must defeat the guardians surrounding Death’s Head Idols before keeping each Rupture active for as long as possible. Longer encounters produce greater rewards, while closing Ruptures grants Glints of Hope that can be exchanged through the seasonal reputation board. The official Season of Death Awakening announcement confirms 3 Rupture variations, including standard Ruptures across the world, Surging Ruptures that replace local Helltide events, and Colossal Ruptures located within the Fields of Desecration.

Completing more difficult Ruptures can summon a redesigned Realmwalker, which opens access to the Deathtoll Chamber after it is defeated. These compact dungeons provide Superior Lair Keys required to unlock the seasonal boss rewards inside the Pandemonium Threshold. The Corrupted Reaper serves as the main seasonal Lair Boss and offers the strongest direct drop chance for Mythic Uniques and Pandemonium Fragments.

Mythic Uniques 3.0 represents one of the largest permanent item changes arriving with Season 14. Mythic is no longer restricted to a small collection of predefined items and instead becomes a quality that can apply to every Unique. Any Unique can drop as a Mythic or be converted through the Horadric Cube and Jeweler. Mythic versions are always Ancestral, receive a 30% increase to their Unique Power, and roll their remaining affixes at maximum values. Crafting through the Horadric Cube requires a level 850 or higher Unique from the desired equipment slot and 5 Pandemonium Fragments, while the Jeweler method requires specific Runes and 3 Resplendent Sparks. Crafted results remain random within the same equipment slot, meaning a pair of Unique boots will create another pair of Mythic boots but will not guarantee the same item.

Blizzard has also adjusted the system following feedback from the Public Test Realm. Every Unique, Mythic Unique, and Iconic Mythic will retain 2 guaranteed affixes, protecting the identity of each item while leaving additional space for build customization. Players can reroll 1 undesirable affix through Enchanting, and Mythic affixes added through Enchanting, Transfiguration, or Tempering will always receive maximum rolls. Only 1 crafted Mythic Unique can be equipped at a time, although Mythics obtained through natural drops or reward caches do not share that restriction.

The Tower and Leaderboards will officially leave beta during Season 14, introducing cosmetic rewards based on player rankings and completed Tower tiers. Solo Self Found will also arrive as a permanent character condition for seasonal characters, preventing grouping and trading while providing separate Normal and Hardcore Leaderboards. Once selected, Solo Self Found remains active for the complete season, after which the character transfers to the Eternal Realm and regains access to regular multiplayer features.

Seasonal progression has also expanded to 9 ranks and more than 120 account wide objectives. Rewards include up to 12 Skill Points, 42 Paragon Points, 7 Resplendent Sparks, 5 Mythic Unique Caches, the Greystone pet, cosmetics, crafting materials, and Lair Boss Keys. Blizzard notes that approximately 15% of the objectives require Lord of Hatred, meaning base game owners can participate in most of the season but cannot claim every available reward.

The Overwatch collaboration begins with the season on June 30 and allows players to earn Eye of the Overwatch currency by defeating Elite and Champion enemies. This currency can be used inside a free Overwatch Reliquary containing emblems, weapon appearances, a mount trophy, the first earnable dye in Diablo IV, and Kiriko’s Fox Spirit companion. Additional character inspired armor will be sold separately through the in game shop. Patch 3.1.0 can be downloaded early beginning June 25 on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation, allowing players to prepare before the seasonal servers open.

Season of Death Awakening is more substantial than a traditional seasonal reset because several of its largest additions directly affect Diablo IV’s permanent item and endgame structure. Turning Mythic into a quality available across the complete Unique pool significantly expands build possibilities, while the ability to reroll an affix gives players more control without completely removing the random loot chase that defines Diablo.

The Warlock trial is also a strategic way to introduce players to Lord of Hatred. Allowing progress to carry forward reduces the friction of trying the class, while the level 30 limit provides enough time to understand its demon binding mechanics and early build options. The absence of Steam from Blizzard’s listed trial platforms is notable, especially considering the game is available through Valve’s storefront.

The greatest test will be whether Pandemonium Ruptures remain engaging after repeated runs. The Realmwalker activities introduced in earlier seasons received criticism for slow pacing, so the faster Ruptures, compact Deathtoll Chambers, and stronger Mythic rewards will need to maintain momentum throughout the complete season.

Will you use the free Warlock trial when Diablo IV Season 14 launches, or are the Mythic Unique changes the main reason you are returning to Sanctuary?
