Crimson Desert Patch 2.01.00 Targets Visual Noise in Rain and Puddles
Pearl Abyss has released Patch 2.01.00 for Crimson Desert, continuing the technical cleanup that followed the recent Crimson Desert Enhanced update. The most notable graphics improvement targets visual noise that could become particularly noticeable during rainy weather and around puddles, addressing a presentation issue that could make water heavy scenes appear unnecessarily noisy.

The change is specifically described around rain and puddles rather than as a broader overhaul of Crimson Desert's image rendering, but it should provide a cleaner presentation in affected environments. Patch 2.01.00 also fixes frame rate drops that could occur near fences after placing outdoor furniture, while Mac systems using M5 hardware receive a lighting correction for indoor areas that could previously appear too dark.
Outside graphics, Pearl Abyss has expanded Photo Mode with camera tilt support, increased the amount of Camp Funds received from Silver donations by 10x, and introduced a new Gold Bar Investment Mission. Several combat and gameplay problems have also been corrected, including situations where companions and mounts would fail to engage enemies, characters could freeze underwater after using Body Slam, or certain abilities behaved incorrectly. UI, localization, quest, map, and interaction fixes are included as well.
Patch 2.01.00 is available on Steam for PC and Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store, while the Mac App Store version is scheduled to arrive later. The update comes as Pearl Abyss prepares its next major content push with Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown, which launches on October 15, 2026.
Patch 2.01.00 is primarily a refinement update, but reducing visual noise is meaningful for a game that relies heavily on dense environments, weather effects, reflections, and detailed lighting to showcase the BlackSpace Engine. Rather than adding another major system immediately after Enhanced, Pearl Abyss appears to be concentrating on cleaning up the technical issues players are most likely to notice during normal gameplay before the next expansion arrives.
