Creature-Collecting Roguelike Morsels from Toronto-Based Indie Team Furcula Launches this November
Indie developer Furcula, in partnership with Annapurna Interactive, has announced that Morsels, its debut title, will launch on November 18, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. First revealed during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase in August 2024, the game quickly caught attention for its quirky mix of creature-collecting, roguelike progression, and top-down shooter mechanics.
Furcula, a small Toronto-based studio founded by a three-person team, is making its debut with Morsels. The group includes artist Toby Dixon, musician Sam Webster, and designer/programmer Iggy Zuk, all bringing distinct creative strengths to the project. You can learn more about the studio on their official site.
In Morsels, players take on the role of a small mouse scavenging for scraps in the sewers. The story takes a strange turn when the mouse encounters a magical frog-like creature known as a Fatberg, which transforms them into a Morsel. This transformation grants the ability to swap between other Morsels discovered throughout the journey, creating a dynamic gameplay system where players must choose the right form to adapt to ever-changing combat and exploration scenarios.
The game’s unusual aesthetic and mechanics have led the team to describe it as an “oddball roguelike”, one that blends humor, challenge, and experimentation into its design. Annapurna Interactive, known for publishing unique and narrative-rich indie titles, adds further weight to the project’s growing anticipation.
A new gameplay trailer has been released alongside the launch date announcement, offering another look at its distinctive world and combat system
Morsels launches worldwide on November 18, 2025, and aims to carve out a unique space in the roguelike genre with its creature-collecting twist.
