ASUS Unveils ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 “30th Anniversary Edition”
ASUS has officially brought back its iconic MATRIX series with the launch of the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 “30th Anniversary Edition” graphics card, a premium, limited-production model designed to showcase extreme cooling, power delivery, and performance. The announcement was made alongside the card’s product page on the official ROG website and celebrated by ASUS ROG on X.
The card features the signature red-and-black aesthetic that has long defined ASUS’s high-performance hardware. Cooling is handled by a quad axial-tech fan system with three fans on the front and a fourth on the back, creating a push-pull airflow design that increases air pressure and cooling efficiency by up to 20 percent. Complementing this, the card integrates Aura Lighting, including an ARGB-lit infinity mirror on the backplate proudly displaying the “MATRIX” logo.
One of the standout design choices is the integration of ASUS’s latest BTF connector technology. The ROG Matrix RTX 5090 supports the GC-HPWR 2.5 connector in addition to the standard 16-pin power plug, enabling up to 800W of power draw for overclocking headroom and providing a sleek cable-free design when paired with ASUS BTF motherboards.
Under the hood, ASUS has engineered the card with a premium PCB featuring a 3 Oz copper layer for improved thermals and reduced voltage drops, maximizing overclocking potential. The GPU die uses Liquid Metal TIM, paired with a vapor chamber and a heatsink with a denser fin array than the ROG Astral series, delivering a 10 percent increase in surface area for improved heat dissipation.
Performance-wise, the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 comes with a 323 MHz factory overclock, achieving up to 2730 MHz under its OC BIOS. The massive card measures 357.6 x 149.3 x 76 mm and takes up a 3.8-slot form factor, highlighting its enthusiast-class positioning.

ASUS has confirmed that the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 “30th Anniversary Edition” will be an ultra-limited production run of just 1000 units worldwide. Pricing details have not been revealed, but industry expectations suggest it will debut above $2500 USD given its exclusivity, advanced engineering, and premium branding.
