CD Projekt RED to Unveil Major Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 During July 16 REDstream

CD Projekt RED has announced the upcoming reveal of Patch 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077, signaling yet another major update for its flagship RPG. The full breakdown of the patch will be presented during a REDstream livestream scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST / 5 PM CEST.

The announcement was made via the official Cyberpunk 2077 X account, where the team teased automotive-focused content in the patch with the line: "We're driving into Patch 2.3 of Cyberpunk 2077 to check what's under the hood of the newest update," accompanied by a tire emoji and metaphorical language hinting at vehicular upgrades or features.

The livestream will be hosted by Paweł Sasko, Associate Game Director on the upcoming Cyberpunk sequel, and Adrien Jouannet, Lead Designer at Virtuos. Viewers can follow the announcement live via Twitch and YouTube

While specific patch details remain under wraps until the official broadcast, the thematic hints strongly suggest updates tied to vehicle mechanics, customization, or perhaps new driving features being implemented in Night City. Patch 2.3 could potentially expand upon the extensive overhauls that began with the Phantom Liberty expansion and Patch 2.0, which significantly reworked AI, skill trees, and police systems.

Additionally, this week marks another milestone for Cyberpunk 2077, as the game becomes available to Apple Silicon Mac users starting July 17, 2025, further broadening its platform reach.

With CD Projekt RED having shifted much of its resources to the sequel, currently under development under the codename "Orion," this patch may serve as one of the last major content or quality-of-life updates for Cyberpunk 2077. Still, it showcases the studio's commitment to polishing the title even five years after its original release.
