CAPCOM Delivers Record Catalog Quarter as Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses 8 Million Sales

CAPCOM has delivered another powerful financial quarter, supported by the successful launch of PRAGMATA, continued momentum for Resident Evil Requiem, and record catalog game sales across its established franchises.

According to CAPCOM’s financial results for the 3 months ending June 30, 2026, net sales reached ¥70.41 billion, approximately 430.1 million USD, representing a 54.7% increase compared with the same period last year. Operating profit increased 66.9% to ¥41.05 billion, approximately 250.7 million USD, while profit attributable to owners of the parent climbed 69.2% to ¥29.16 billion, approximately 178.1 million USD.

CAPCOM has maintained its full year forecast of ¥210 billion in net sales and ¥83 billion in operating profit for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027. The publisher expects net sales to grow 7.5% and operating profit to increase 10.2% compared with the previous fiscal year.

The Digital Contents division sold 23.81 million games during the quarter, compared with 14.16 million units during the same period last year. Catalog sales reached a quarterly record of 21.26 million units, significantly exceeding the previous figure of 13.36 million. Digital game sales accounted for 22.22 million units, reflecting the continued importance of digital distribution within CAPCOM’s global strategy.

PRAGMATA emerged as one of the quarter’s most important releases, surpassing 2.5 million units following its April 17 launch. The result is particularly significant for an entirely new intellectual property and extends the momentum from its earlier 2 million sales milestone,.

Resident Evil Requiem has now surpassed 8 million cumulative units sold, supported by continued demand and active pricing measures. Resident Evil 4 reached 16.04 million lifetime sales, while Resident Evil 2 climbed to 19.75 million. CAPCOM’s modern Resident Evil portfolio continues to operate as a commercial ecosystem where new releases, remakes, discounts, downloadable content, and catalog titles reinforce each other. The company is also planning additional content for Requiem, with reports pointing toward larger story expansions for future Resident Evil games.

Devil May Cry 5 has also surpassed 14 million sales since its 2019 debut. CAPCOM attributed the latest growth to its expansion onto Nintendo Switch 2, coordinated pricing strategies, and renewed awareness generated by the second season of the Devil May Cry animated series on Netflix.

Monster Hunter catalog sales increased following the announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance for 2027. The expansion was revealed alongside Resident Evil Veronica during Summer Game Fest 2026, strengthening CAPCOM’s release pipeline beyond the current fiscal year.

CAPCOM’s upcoming schedule includes Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 4 and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on October 9. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance and Resident Evil Veronica will follow in 2027, giving the publisher a strong combination of new releases, expansions, remakes, and long term catalog opportunities.

CAPCOM’s latest performance shows why catalog management has become one of the company’s strongest competitive advantages. PRAGMATA proves that CAPCOM can still establish new properties, but the larger financial engine remains its ability to continuously reactivate Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, and Dragon’s Dogma through ports, remakes, expansions, entertainment adaptations, and strategic discounts.

With catalog games representing nearly 90% of quarterly unit sales, CAPCOM is no longer dependent on a single blockbuster launch. Its franchises now function as persistent commercial platforms capable of generating revenue across multiple hardware generations.

Which CAPCOM franchise do you believe has the strongest future potential: Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, or PRAGMATA?
