Capcom Confirms Cast and Release Date for Street Fighter Movie Coming in October 2026

Capcom and Legendary Entertainment have officially revealed the full cast for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, along with a confirmed release date of October 16, 2026. The announcement came via the official Street Fighter X account, styled after the iconic Street Fighter II character select screen, with each actor revealed in their chosen role.

The film, which is now in active production, boasts a diverse ensemble of action stars, professional fighters, and unexpected names from Hollywood and beyond. The confirmed cast is as follows:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s plot is set in 1993, with the story beginning as Chun-Li persuades Ryu and Ken to reenter the arena for the World Warrior Tournament. As the tournament unfolds, it becomes clear that darker forces are at play behind the scenes, setting the stage for a mix of martial arts action, character drama, and classic Street Fighter rivalries.

Josh Greenstein, co-chair of Paramount Pictures, praised the project, stating:

“Legendary has built a reputation for ambitious, globally appealing films, and we’re excited to be partnering with them. Street Fighter is the perfect start to our collaboration, which we believe will be strong and lasting.”

The Street Fighter film will premiere just one year after Warner Bros. releases its own major fighting game adaptation, the new Mortal Kombat movie, which arrives on October 24, 2025. With both iconic franchises returning to the big screen within a year of each other, fans will have plenty to compare in terms of how Hollywood translates these legendary fighting games into cinematic experiences.

What do you think of the cast? Does this lineup look like it can finally deliver the Street Fighter film fans have been waiting decades for?
