FEROCIOUS Is a Single Player FPS Where You Fight Dinosaurs And Control Them, Launching December 4

Publisher tinyBuild has confirmed that FEROCIOUS, the ambitious single player first person shooter from indie studio OMYOG, will officially launch on December 4 for PC via Steam

Built on Unity, FEROCIOUS marks OMYOG’s debut as a studio, yet its talent pool includes developers and creatives with AAA backgrounds in both games and film. Leonard Saalfrank draws direct inspiration from King Kong’s cinematic island aesthetic, while Mark, formerly a director on Far Cry and Battlefront II, infuses the project with sandbox style exploration and encounter design. Writers Jörg Ihle and Dominik Hochwald add narrative depth shaped by experience across film, games, and theme park storytelling.

Players begin stranded on a hostile, remote island ruled by mercenaries, prehistoric predators, and a lush yet deadly ecosystem. FEROCIOUS leans into atmospheric survival, requiring players to manage limited resources, navigate dangerous terrain, and uncover hidden routes, secrets, and weapon upgrades.

A major twist, showcased in the official release date trailer, is the dino control device.

This mechanic allows players not only to fight dinosaurs but to command them. The device scans a creature’s brain and replicates vocal patterns through ultrasonic signals, enabling orders such as:

• Follow the player
• Move to a designated position
• Attack targets
• Break obstacles
• Fetch items

Each species has its own obedience level and behavioral quirks, which adds tactical variety, though not all dinosaurs can be controlled. The feature picks up inspiration from Jurassic Park 3’s vocal resonator concept yet expands it with a more grounded scientific angle.

tinyBuild has not yet announced pricing, but expectations lean toward a typical indie range. The game’s Steam page also outlines system requirements as follows:

    • Requires a 64 bit processor and OS

    • OS: Windows 10/11 64 bit

    • CPU: Intel Core i5 4th Gen or AMD equivalent

    • RAM: 12 GB

    • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD RX 580
