Atomic Heart Final DLC Blood on Crystal Launches April 16, Ultimate Edition Also Incoming
Mundfish has officially revealed the 4th and final story expansion for Atomic Heart, titled Blood on Crystal, and it is set to release on April 16, 2026 across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. The studio is positioning this DLC as the high stakes conclusion to Atomic Heart’s first game narrative, sending P 3 and allies deeper into Facility 3826 to battle CHAR les and attempt one last push to stop humanity from sliding toward total annihilation.
Mundfish’s overview frames Blood on Crystal as both a story capstone and a late cycle gameplay escalation. Players will explore the new Wave Platform and the secret Crystal Complex while uncovering what the team calls the shocking truth behind CHAR les’ plans. A major gameplay hook is the introduction of Polymorphs, described as a new breed of creatures created from CHAR les experiments. These enemies can leverage polymer properties to assume elemental forms, forcing players to shift tactics mid fight and squeeze more value from their full loadout instead of relying on a single dominant approach.
Boss design is also being marketed as a key selling point. Mundfish says players will face the wildest bosses still lurking inside Facility 3826, and the studio is pairing that threat level with what it calls the most powerful glove abilities and weapons yet, which suggests a late game power fantasy built for aggressive combat and flashy finishers.
Alongside the DLC, Mundfish is also preparing an Atomic Heart Ultimate Edition rollout in both retail and digital channels. The limited physical edition includes an exclusive SteelBook, with pre orders already open at participating retailers and a release date set for March 24, 2026. Digital versions of the Ultimate Edition will go live on April 16, 2026, aligned with the DLC launch, which is a smart packaging play designed to capture both returning players and late adopters in the same purchase window.
Pricing has not been explicitly confirmed here, but the previous 3 story DLCs on Steam are priced at 10.00$, so it is reasonable to expect Blood on Crystal to land in the same tier. Players who bought the Gold Edition or Premium Edition at launch should receive Blood on Crystal automatically, consistent with how the earlier expansions were delivered.
From a franchise strategy standpoint, the cadence is notable. Atomic Heart originally launched in February 2023, meaning Mundfish delivered 4 story DLC releases in a little over 3 years while also building out the future of the IP with Atomic Heart 2 and the spin off MMO shooter The Cube. Mundfish previously stated in May 2025 that Atomic Heart reached over 10M players, though that figure should be contextualized with the game’s Game Pass presence. Regardless, closing the DLC arc with a final narrative chapter is a clean platform move that stabilizes the franchise timeline and sets the stage for whatever comes next.
Are you planning to return for Blood on Crystal to finish the story, or are you waiting for Atomic Heart 2 before jumping back into Facility 3826?
