AMD Bundles Onimusha: Way of the Sword With Select Ryzen 9000 and Radeon RX 9000 Hardware

AMD has launched a new gaming bundle that gives buyers of selected Ryzen 9000 X3D processors and Radeon RX 9000 graphics cards a copy of Capcom's upcoming Onimusha: Way of the Sword at no additional charge. The promotion began on August 25, 2026 and runs through September 26, or until participating retailers exhaust their available coupon codes, giving PC builders another incentive to upgrade ahead of one of September's major action releases. AMD confirms that eligible processors:

AMD Ryzen CPUs AMD Radeon GPUs
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE
AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D AMD Radeon RX 9070
AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

The promotion is available only through participating retailers, and the qualifying hardware must be installed in the system used to complete AMD's product verification process. Customers receive a coupon code with their qualifying purchase, sign into AMD Rewards and use the Product Verification Tool to confirm the eligible processor or graphics card before activating the game. Purchases qualify through September 26, while redemption remains available until October 24, 2026.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches September 4, 2026 after Capcom moved its release forward from September 25. The game marks the first new mainline Onimusha entry in approximately 20 years and follows Miyamoto Musashi through a supernatural interpretation of early Edo period Kyoto, where Malice has transformed the city and unleashed Genma creatures. Capcom is emphasizing precise sword combat built around parrying, deflection, Issen attacks and the Oni Gauntlet, while the campaign combines a mostly linear narrative with larger areas containing exploration and side activities.

AMD is also positioning the game as a showcase for Radeon technology. Its official Onimusha page highlights AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, while the current PC requirements confirm FSR 3.1 support. Capcom lists a Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB for 1080p at 30 FPS with the Low preset and upscaling enabled, while the recommended Radeon RX 6600 8 GB targets 1080p at 60 FPS using the Medium preset and upscaling. Both configurations require 16 GB of system memory and an SSD with 50 GB of available storage.

Bundling Onimusha: Way of the Sword makes sense for AMD because the promotion covers exactly the enthusiast hardware most likely to be considered for a new gaming build. The Ryzen X3D lineup remains heavily focused on gaming performance, while the Radeon RX 9070 family gives AMD a current generation graphics platform to demonstrate FSR and its wider software stack. For someone already planning to buy a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Ryzen 9 X3D processor or Radeon RX 9070 Series GPU, adding one of Capcom's biggest 2026 releases improves the overall upgrade value without changing the hardware decision itself.

Would a bundled copy of Onimusha: Way of the Sword influence your choice between AMD and competing gaming hardware?
