Ubisoft Unveils Anno 117: Pax Romana Year 1 Content and Campaign in Gameplay Deep Dive
Ahead of the official release of Anno 117: Pax Romana on November 13, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Ubisoft has unveiled a comprehensive gameplay deep dive trailer that provides a detailed overview of the game’s campaign storyline and its post-launch Year 1 Content Pass.
In the main campaign of Anno 117: Pax Romana, players will take on the role of either Marcus or Marcia, two Roman governors assigned to rule over a newly acquired Celtic province. As the appointed governor, players must determine how to shape the destiny of their territory by deciding whether to strictly enforce Roman traditions or to adopt a more diplomatic approach by integrating and blending Roman and Celtic cultures. Each decision will influence the development of the province, the loyalty of its people, and the long-term prosperity of the region.
The storyline will also vary depending on the chosen protagonist. Selecting Marcus will lead to one distinct narrative path, while choosing Marcia will unlock an alternative storyline, offering different perspectives and challenges. Ubisoft has placed strong emphasis on creating a dynamic and immersive experience where political strategy, cultural management, and player decisions directly impact the unfolding of events.
After launch, Anno 117: Pax Romana will continue to expand through the Year 1 Content Pass, which includes three major downloadable content releases, each introducing new regions, cultures, and gameplay mechanics.
The first DLC, Provinces of Ash, will introduce the region of Latium, a large volcanic island featuring new cultural encounters and environmental challenges. The island’s towering volcano will play a significant role in shaping both the geography and the risks of settlement management.
The second DLC, The Hippodrome, will allow players to construct a massive stadium arena, giving them the ability to organize grand events such as chariot races and large-scale celebrations to enhance public morale, strengthen the economy, and showcase the empire’s splendor.
The third DLC, Dawn of the Delta, will take players to a new river-based province set along the Egyptian frontier. This expansion will introduce an entirely new culture and environment centered around the Nile Delta, offering unique opportunities for trade, development, and cultural exchange.
Ubisoft has not yet disclosed the release schedule for these three expansions. However, given that they form the Year 1 content lineup, it is expected that they will be released at steady intervals throughout the first year following the game’s launch, ensuring that players receive a continuous stream of new experiences and content updates.
Anno 117: Pax Romana continues the long-standing legacy of the Anno series by combining deep city-building mechanics with historical authenticity and strategic decision-making. With its dual-character campaign, cultural integration system, and extensive post-launch roadmap, Ubisoft’s latest installment aims to deliver an ambitious and refined experience that captures the complexities of governance during the height of the Roman Empire.
