Yooka-Replaylee Launches This October with Enhanced Story, Gameplay, and Visuals
Playtonic Games has announced that Yooka-Replaylee, the enhanced version of its 2017 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee, will officially launch on October 9, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S.
Players who already own the original Yooka-Laylee will be able to upgrade to Yooka-Replaylee at a 30% discount off its $29.99 / £24.99 / €28.99 launch price. A physical edition will also be available for $49.99, which comes bundled with exclusive bonus collectibles.
A Reinvention, Not Just a Remaster
"Yooka-Replaylee is built to shine on every platform, and we’re chuffed to bits it’s on Switch 2 from day 01," said Playtonic studio director Gavin Price. "It’s bigger, brighter, bolder, and packed with all the little touches we always dreamed of. We can’t wait for players to jump in."
Publisher PM Studios echoed the sentiment, with CMO Ami Blaire adding:
"It's rare to see a game get this kind of second life — not as a remaster, but as a true reinvention. It's the kind of release that reminds you why I fell in love with platform games in the first place."

Yooka-Replaylee is not a simple visual overhaul. It reimagines the original game with a host of meaningful updates, including:
Retold and expanded story with new beats and narrative touches.
New isometric platforming challenges replacing the original minigames.
Refined camera and movement controls for smoother gameplay.

A fresh soundtrack to accompany the adventure.

The result is more of a “second take” than a remake, with Playtonic aiming to deliver the version of the game it always envisioned back in 2017.
