Xbox Confirms Gamescom 2025 Attendance – Here’s What to Expect

Microsoft has officially confirmed its presence at Gamescom 2025, set to take place in Cologne from August 20 to 24. The announcement was made via Xbox’s official X account, signaling another major showcase from the tech giant this summer. Joining Xbox at the event are Bethesda, as confirmed on their official X channel, and the World of Warcraft team at Blizzard, who also shared their Gamescom plans earlier this week.

Xbox has made Gamescom a consistent part of its global event roadmap since 2021, typically featuring game demos, livestreams, and first-look reveals during the show. While a full lineup hasn’t yet been detailed, several upcoming titles and hardware rumors point to an exciting slate of content for this year’s event.

What We Might See at Gamescom 2025

The Outer Worlds 2

With its release scheduled for October 29, 2025, Obsidian’s highly anticipated sequel is due for a final marketing push. Gamescom could serve as the stage for extended gameplay and possibly a playable demo.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – DLC The first expansion to MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle arrives September 4, making Gamescom the ideal venue to reveal new story content, gameplay footage, or launch details. After its high-profile appearance at the Summer Game Fest, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is due for a full release between October and November. Expect a major spotlight moment from Xbox, possibly including a multiplayer beta reveal or campaign preview. Unveiled during Xbox’s Summer Game Fest event, Cronos: The New Dawn could receive its final release date along with a fresh trailer or in-depth demo on the Gamescom stage. With the release date now confirmed, Ninja Gaiden 4 is another title rumored to appear at Gamescom, potentially via a gameplay trailer or hands-on demo by Team Ninja and PlatinumGames.

Hardware Rumors: Xbox Ally and Meta Quest 3S Edition

Among the most anticipated announcements are two potential hardware debuts:

  • ROG Xbox Ally, the handheld device expected before year’s end, may get a full reveal or demo.

  • A possible Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition, which leaked earlier this year, could finally be unveiled. Xbox might also showcase new VR ports for existing titles to support this headset.

Even if Microsoft chooses not to stream a dedicated showcase (though that would be unexpected), their booth presence alone suggests hands-on opportunities with multiple upcoming titles. Attendees may get to try fall 2025’s biggest Xbox titles before release.

With Xbox, Bethesda, and Blizzard all confirmed, and more announcements likely in the coming weeks, Gamescom 2025 is shaping up to be a must-watch for Xbox fans.
