Wolcen Studio Reveals Gods, Death, & Reapers at Gamescom 2025
Wolcen Studio, best known for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, has officially revealed the title of its highly anticipated PvPvE extraction game, previously known only as Project Pantheon. The game is now called Gods, Death, & Reapers, and it was showcased with a new gameplay trailer during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2025.
The official gameplay trailer gave players their first real look at the game’s isometric ARPG-inspired style. Although no release date or launch window was announced, fans won’t have to wait entirely on the sidelines—those interested can already request access to the closed playtest on Steam to try it out early.
A New Approach to Extraction Gameplay
Unlike traditional extraction shooters, Gods, Death, & Reapers brings the genre into a top-down ARPG format, blending loot-driven dungeon crawling with the high-stakes survival mechanics of PvPvE. Players will need to battle both AI-controlled enemies and rival squads while navigating dangerous zones, collecting rewards, and extracting successfully to claim victory.
Game director Andrei Chirculete explained the project’s vision in a press release: “Gamescom 2025 marks a huge milestone for us as we finally get to share Gods, Death & Reapers’ official name and gameplay with the world. Gods, Death & Reapers started from one simple idea: what if you could play an extraction game that looks like a top-down ARPG? Now that this idea has turned into Gods, Death & Reapers, we can’t wait to hear from our players what they think, as it will help us shape up the best version throughout the coming Closed Alpha tests.”
Early Development With Community Input
Wolcen Studio emphasized that Gods, Death, & Reapers is still in an early stage of development, with the closed playtest serving as a key opportunity for gathering player feedback. Community involvement will play a central role in refining systems and balancing the game’s ARPG-extraction hybrid approach.
With its distinctive perspective and blend of genres, Gods, Death, & Reapers has the potential to carve out a unique place in the crowded extraction game market.
