Where Winds Meet Shadow Drops on Xbox Series X and S During Xbox Games Showcase 2026

Xbox players can finally step into the martial arts open world of Where Winds Meet. During the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, publisher NetEase and developer Everstone Studio shadow dropped the free to play action adventure game on Xbox Series X and S, bringing the title to Microsoft’s console ecosystem after its earlier launch on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. Where Winds Meet first arrived on PC and PlayStation 5 in November 2025, followed by iOS and Android mobile devices in December 2025. Since then, the game has reached more than 80 million players across supported platforms, making its Xbox arrival a major moment for players who have been waiting to explore its Wuxia inspired world on Team Green hardware.

The game is available now on Xbox Series X and S. Players can access it through the Xbox PC app, Xbox Cloud, and Xbox Game Pass, where it joins the subscription library immediately. As a free to play title, Where Winds Meet already offers a low barrier to entry, but its arrival through Game Pass gives Xbox players even more visibility and convenience.

The Xbox launch also arrives with more than just platform availability. NetEase and Everstone Studio also revealed a new look at the game’s next major expansion, Hidden Mountain, which follows the recent Imperial Palace expansion. Imperial Palace was described as the biggest expansion the game had received so far, adding a major new area and expanding the scale of the adventure.

Hidden Mountain is scheduled to arrive in July 2026 and will introduce another large area for players to explore. The expansion is designed around vertical exploration, layered environments, traversal challenges, hidden secrets, and new rewards for curious players willing to investigate every level of the map.

According to the press release, Hidden Mountain is described as a breathtaking 3D vertical landscape that further expands open world exploration with hidden surprises, deep secrets, and traversal challenges across multiple elevations. Quote by: NetEase and Everstone Studio

To mark the Xbox launch, a custom Where Winds Meet Xbox controller has also been revealed. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will receive an additional starter pack that includes 450 Echo Jade, 90,000 Coins, Attune Stones, Lingering Melodies, Pillow Pills, and other progression focused items. This should help new Xbox players start their journey with a stronger foundation as they enter a world already populated by millions of players.

On the technical side, Xbox Series X players can experience Where Winds Meet with full HDR and AMD FSR 2 support for an upscaled 4K presentation. Xbox Series S players will receive support for a maximum 2K resolution. This is a notable point for Microsoft’s smaller console, especially after recent discussion around Series S optimization challenges for other titles.

Where Winds Meet has become one of the more successful free to play open world games of the current generation, combining martial arts combat, exploration, historical fantasy atmosphere, and live service expansion support. Its strong player count shows that the formula has already found a large audience, and the Xbox launch gives the game another opportunity to expand.

For Xbox players, this shadow drop is a strong addition to the showcase lineup. Instead of waiting months after an announcement, players can download and start playing immediately. With the Hidden Mountain expansion arriving in July 2026, Xbox players are joining at a strong time, just before the next major content update expands the world again.

Where Winds Meet is now available on Xbox Series X and S, PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android.

Will you try Where Winds Meet now that it is available on Xbox Series X and S, or are you waiting for the Hidden Mountain expansion in July?
