Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Year 2 Roadmap Includes New Playable Class, Game Modes, Missions, and More

Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have revealed the Year 2 roadmap for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, introducing a wealth of new content that expands on one of last year’s biggest action titles. The updates will kick off on September 4, 2025, just days ahead of the game’s one-year anniversary.

A newly released trailer highlights what players can expect from the Year 2 rollout. The update cycle will bring a brand-new playable class - the Techmarine - alongside new operations, new game modes, additional enemies, bosses, and weapons.

Importantly, Saber confirmed that all these new gameplay features will be delivered as free updates, ensuring that all players can access the major content additions regardless of whether they purchase additional content.

For those who want to go further, there will also be paid cosmetic packs delivered through the Year 2 Season Pass. These cosmetics remain optional and won’t lock players out of any gameplay features, focusing entirely on customization.

The roadmap arrives on the heels of impressive milestones for the game. This past June, Focus and Saber announced that Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 had surpassed 7 million copies sold in its first year, solidifying it as one of the most successful Warhammer titles to date. While Saber Interactive is continuing its work to expand Space Marine 2, the studio has already confirmed that development of Space Marine 3 has begun.

With a strong post-launch plan and new playable content arriving soon, Space Marine 2 looks poised to maintain momentum well into its second year and beyond.

What do you think about the addition of the Techmarine class and free new modes in Year 2? Will this keep Space Marine 2 alive until Space Marine 3 arrives? Share your thoughts below.
