Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage Closed Beta Begins September 10
SEGA has announced that the Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage Closed Beta Test (CBT) will run from Wednesday, September 10, at 8 PM PT until Monday, September 15, at 7:59 PM PT, giving players on both console and PC their first hands-on experience with the upcoming evolution of the franchise.
Console players interested in joining the test must register via the official SEGA website and create an account if they do not already have one, while PC players can simply request access via the Steam page.
During the Closed Beta, players will have access to three key game modes: Ranked Matchmaking, Training Mode, and Arcade Mode. The entire base roster of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage will be available to try out, though the upcoming DLC fighter Dural will not be playable during this testing phase.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage introduces several major enhancements to the long-running series, including rollback netcode for smoother online play, full cross-play support across platforms, and significant improvements to training features. The most notable addition is the new World Stage single-player mode, where players battle through a series of increasingly challenging rivals in a quest to become the ultimate fighter, unlocking a variety of customization items along the way.
SEGA also confirmed that existing owners of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. on PC will be able to upgrade to World Stage for free, while PlayStation 4 owners of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown can upgrade to the new PlayStation 5 version for $9.99. New players can purchase the game outright for $19.99. The full release of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is set for October 30, 2025, launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
