Vampire Crawlers Lands on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series on April 21 as Poncle Expands the Vampire Survivors Universe
Poncle has officially locked in the release date for Vampire Crawlers, the first person, turn based spin off set in the world of Vampire Survivors. The game will launch on April 21, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S, while iOS and Android versions are also planned for later in 2026. The release date was confirmed in the new release date trailer, and the game’s Steam page also lists April 21, 2026 as its planned launch date.
The trailer also confirms pricing at $9.99/£9.99/$9.99/€9.99/¥1200, putting the spin off at double the current $4.99 price of Vampire Survivors. At the same time, Poncle has also confirmed that Vampire Crawlers will launch into Xbox Game Pass on day one, giving Xbox players another easy entry point into what already looks like one of the studio’s more experimental expansions of the franchise.
Unlike the top down bullet heaven identity of Vampire Survivors, Vampire Crawlers shifts the formula into a first person dungeon crawling card battler with roguelite progression. The Steam page describes it as a casual, turn based deckbuilder where players build powerful card combos, explore dungeon floors, evolve weapons, and trigger familiar survivor style chain reactions from a very different perspective. For players already invested in Vampire Survivors, that means a lot of recognizable items, systems, and visual callbacks are being repurposed into a new structure rather than discarded entirely.
This new project is also notable because Poncle is not building it alone. Vampire Crawlers is being co developed with Nosebleed Interactive, the studio known for titles such as Arcade Paradise and Vostok Inc. That partnership helps explain why the game feels like more than a small side mode or novelty add on. It is being positioned as a full premium spin off with its own gameplay identity, even while staying closely tied to the Vampire Survivors brand.
Momentum around the project also appears to be strong. A recent Steam community update reported that the Vampire Crawlers demo pulled in 358,000 downloads and 274,000 players during Steam Next Fest, while wishlists climbed past 420,000 on Steam alone. That kind of traction is a strong signal that interest in the Vampire Survivors universe remains very healthy, especially when attached to a genre twist that could have easily felt too niche. Instead, the data suggests players are more than willing to follow Poncle into a very different style of game as long as the core loop remains addictive.
From a market perspective, Vampire Crawlers looks like a smart next move for Poncle. The original Vampire Survivors became a breakout success by delivering massive value, immediate readability, and near endless replayability. This spin off keeps the recognizable DNA intact, but pushes it into a format that feels more deliberate and strategic. For players who love deckbuilding, combo crafting, and dungeon crawling, this could end up being a very effective crossover between familiar systems and a totally fresh gameplay flow. And with a 9.99 dollar price point plus Game Pass availability, the barrier to entry remains extremely low for what looks like a much more ambitious experiment than its modest cost might suggest.
Do you like the idea of Vampire Survivors evolving into a first person card battler, or would you rather see Poncle stay focused on the classic bullet heaven formula?
