Techland Moves Up Dying Light: The Beast Release Date to September 18 After Surpassing 1M Pre-Orders
Techland has announced that Dying Light: The Beast will now release on September 18, 2025, one day earlier than its previously scheduled launch date. The decision was made to celebrate the game surpassing 1 million pre-orders, a major milestone ahead of release.
Originally set for August 22, the game was delayed by four weeks to September 19, but fans won’t have to wait quite as long as expected. In a celebratory post on X (formerly Twitter), Techland shared:
“Big news! Since more than 1 million players have already secured their copy of Dying Light: The Beast ahead of launch, we're moving the release forward to September 18!”

Alongside the announcement, Techland released a graphic detailing the global launch times, ensuring fans worldwide know exactly when they’ll be able to jump in.
While a one-day shift may not seem like much, it’s a rare move in an industry where delays are far more common than early releases. The adjustment is certainly welcome news for eager fans, though it may slightly disrupt players who had already arranged time off work for the original date.
Techland has been steadily ramping up excitement with behind-the-scenes features, most recently offering a look at how the studio designed the game’s infected enemies and developed their haunting vocalizations. With Dying Light: The Beast promising an even darker, more ambitious take on the survival-horror formula, expectations are riding high.
Do you think more studios should reward fan enthusiasm by moving up release dates when milestones are hit, or is this just a fun exception?
