Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon Passes 1 Million Sold, Steam Discount Drops Base Game to 35.99$

Polish developer Questline and publisher Awaken Realms have announced that Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon has sold over 1,000,000 copies across all platforms, a milestone that cements the game’s reputation as a breakout open world first person action RPG in the indie space. Often nicknamed Indie Skyrim by its fans, the title has steadily built momentum through its exploration focused structure, character progression, and atmospheric worldbuilding, translating long tail community interest into real commercial scale.

To celebrate crossing the 1,000,000 sales mark, Questline and Awaken Realms released a special milestone trailer and launched a limited time 20% discount on Steam. The discount applies across multiple purchase options, including the base game and bundled content, and it is scheduled to end on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Here is the pricing highlighted in the announcement for the Steam promotion

Base game
35.99$ reduced from 44.99$

Sanctuary of Arras expansion
11.99$ reduced from 14.99$

Adventure Pack bundle including base game plus expansion
47.98$ reduced from 59.98$

Supporters Pack including soundtrack and artbook access
7.99$ reduced from 9.99$

Beyond the sales milestone and promotion, this is also a strategic signal for what comes next. Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon was originally announced in December 2021, following the success of Tainted Grail Conquest, the earlier deck building roguelike RPG hybrid. With Avalon now proving it can perform at scale, the most logical next step for Questline and Awaken Realms is to double down on the formula with a bigger and more polished sequel or major content roadmap, assuming the team chooses to reinvest into expanding the franchise rather than pivoting to a new IP. If they do go forward, the core opportunity is clear: preserve the identity that made Avalon stand out, while smoothing out the rough edges that often hold back ambitious indie open world RPGs from converting curiosity into long term retention.

Have you tried Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon yet, and do you think it deserves the Indie Skyrim nickname based on exploration and progression feel, or is that comparison setting expectations too high
