Styx: Blades of Greed Delayed Out of 2025 and Now Scheduled for Release in February 2026
Fans of the long running stealth franchise Styx will have to wait a bit longer for the goblin thief’s grand return. Developer Cyanide Studio and publisher Nacon have officially confirmed that Styx: Blades of Greed will not meet its previously planned 2025 launch window. The good news is that the team has announced a new date, with the game now set to arrive on February nineteen, two thousand twenty six.
The announcement came with a new release date trailer shared on the game’s Steam page. The update, available through the official Steam news post, stays true to Styx’s signature sarcastic tone. In the video and accompanying message, the character jokes, “What? I am not late, I just like making you wait.”
Cyanide Studio continued this playful approach in the written announcement, speaking in character as Styx.
“Yeah, yeah, I know, waiting is not your favorite thing. Mine either. Unless I am waiting in the dark to stab someone, of course.”
The developer humorously explained the reasons behind the delay, stating that the team needs a few more months to refine gameplay systems and deliver an experience worthy of Styx’s return.
“The devs are taking a few extra months to polish everything up, tweak the bits that need tweaking, and make sure my grand return is as glorious and chaotic as it deserves to be. A much more sharp adventure. One worthy of slipping back into my slightly grimy, perfectly stylish boots.”
Styx: Blades of Greed marks the next major entry in the cult classic stealth action series, known for its acrobatic traversal, deadly ambushes, creative infiltration routes, and signature goblin humor. With Cyanide Studio committing additional time for polish and refinement, fans can look forward to a more ambitious and tightly crafted adventure when the game launches early next year.
Are you happy to see Styx receive extra development time, or were you hoping it would remain a 2025 release
