Star Wars Jedi 3 Reportedly Far Into Development With Official Reveal Expected Soon

Respawn Entertainment's third Star Wars Jedi game is reportedly approaching an important development milestone, with an official announcement potentially arriving sooner than expected. According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, development of the highly anticipated sequel is already well advanced, suggesting that Cal Kestis' final adventure is progressing despite recent restructuring at Electronic Arts.

Schreier shared the information on October 30, 2026, while discussing EA's decision to close BioWare and prioritize Star Wars Battlefront 3. When questioned about the future of Respawn's Jedi series, he clarified that the project remains active and should receive an official announcement soon. His comments suggest that Jedi 3 is substantially further along than Battlefront 3, which reportedly has not entered active development. However, neither EA nor Respawn has confirmed a reveal date, with speculation pointing toward The Game Awards on December 10, 2026, and a potential release sometime in 2027.

The third installment was originally confirmed during EA's September 2024 Investor Day, when former EA Entertainment President Laura Miele described the project as the final chapter of Cal Kestis' story. Following Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2019 and Jedi: Survivor in 2023, the upcoming game is expected to conclude the trilogy, although its official title, gameplay features, and supported platforms remain unannounced. Earlier rumors also suggested that the sequel could feature an older Cal Kestis, potentially introducing a significant time jump.

For PC players, technical performance will be another important consideration. Jedi: Survivor suffered from shader compilation stuttering, inconsistent frame pacing, and optimization problems at launch, with some issues persisting through subsequent updates. Respawn will have an opportunity to address those shortcomings while expanding the combat mechanics, Force abilities, and exploration systems established by the previous games.

Star Wars Jedi 3 could become one of Respawn's most important releases, particularly as EA restructures its gaming portfolio around established franchises. The first 2 installments successfully combined challenging lightsaber combat with exploration and character driven storytelling, creating a strong foundation for the trilogy's conclusion. However, beyond delivering a satisfying ending for Cal Kestis, Respawn must prioritize technical stability, especially on PC. A polished release would be the strongest way to conclude the series and restore confidence following Jedi: Survivor's troubled launch.

Are you ready for Cal Kestis' final adventure, or would you prefer Respawn to continue the Star Wars Jedi series beyond the third game?
