Resident Evil Requiem Opens Pre-Orders and Reveals Accessible PC System Requirements

CAPCOM has officially opened pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline entry in the long-running survival horror franchise. The game will launch on February 27, 2026, for PC (Steam and, for the first time, the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

All pre-orders include the exclusive “Apocalypse” costume for protagonist Grace as a bonus item. The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99, while the Deluxe Edition, which costs $79.99, adds the Deluxe Kit packed with customization content and nostalgia-inspired extras.

Deluxe Kit Contents

  • Five costumes, including Grace’s Costume: Dimitrescu

  • Two filters, including Filter: Apocalypse

  • Four weapon skins, including S&S M232 Weapon Skin: Apocalypse

  • Two charms, including Charm: Mr. Raccoon

  • Audio Pack: Raccoon City Classic

  • Files: Letters from 1998

To celebrate CAPCOM’s debut on the Epic Games Store, players who purchase the game there will receive special Resident Evil-themed collaboration items in Fortnite, including a Grace skin and cosmetic accessories. These crossover items will be distributed in Fortnite after Resident Evil Requiem launches in February 2026.

CAPCOM also revealed a limited edition Pro Controller inspired by Resident Evil Requiem, featuring sleek gunmetal black accents and artwork from the game. The controller will be released on February 27, 2026, alongside the game. Additionally, Grace will become the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo, which is expected to arrive in Summer 2026.

Following the pre-order announcement, CAPCOM unveiled the PC specifications for Resident Evil Requiem, which are surprisingly modest for such a high-end release.

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

    • OS: Windows 11 (64-bit required)

    • Processor: Intel Core i5-8500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500

    • Memory: 16 GB RAM

    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB

    • DirectX: Version 12

    • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 / AMD Ryzen 5 5500

    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB / AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB

While these requirements are accessible for most mid-range PCs, players hoping to enable path tracing will need more powerful GPUs than the RTX 2060 level. Nonetheless, based on early gameplay impressions from Gamescom 2025, the title’s optimization already appears solid.

With its modern graphics, accessible system requirements, and a focus on narrative tension, Resident Evil Requiem looks ready to deliver another unforgettable horror experience while expanding CAPCOM’s reach to new digital platforms and cross-franchise collaborations.

Are you planning to pre-order Resident Evil Requiem, or will you wait for the next glimpse of gameplay before deciding?
