PS Plus Extra’s May 2026 Lineup Brings Star Wars Outlaws, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Time Crisis to the Catalog
PlayStation has officially revealed its May 2026 PlayStation Plus Game Catalog update, and this month’s wave is led by Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2, with 7 titles joining the PS Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog and Time Crisis arriving for PS Plus Premium members in the Classics selection.
The full Game Catalog lineup for May includes Star Wars Outlaws, Red Dead Redemption 2, Bramble: The Mountain King, The Thaumaturge, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged, and Enotria: The Last Song Standard Edition. On the Premium side, Time Crisis returns as the month’s featured classic, specifically the 1997 home PlayStation version with gyro aiming and the original console exclusive special stages. All of these titles will become available to subscribers on May 19, 2026, according to Sony.
On paper, this is one of the more appealing PS Plus Extra refreshes in recent months because it offers a broader spread of genre variety and stronger headline recognition. Star Wars Outlaws gives the service a major recent blockbuster, while Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of Rockstar’s most important catalog titles and still carries enormous value for anyone who missed it the first time around. The rest of the lineup also helps round out the month with horror fantasy, tactical RPG, soulslike action, classic adventure, and Italian inspired action RPG representation.
That said, there is one detail subscribers may notice immediately: Red Dead Redemption 2 is explicitly labeled by PlayStation as a “PlayStation Plus re release.” That wording matters, because it confirms Sony is once again cycling a major title back into the service instead of filling every marquee slot with something entirely new. PlayStation’s own May 2024 Game Catalog post also shows that Red Dead Redemption 2 previously joined the catalog in an earlier May update, which makes this return feel more like a high value comeback than a fresh surprise.
Compared with April 2026, which featured titles such as The Crew Motorfest, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, Football Manager 26 Console, and Warriors: Abyss, May arguably lands with a more mainstream punch thanks to the combination of Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2 at the top of the list. Even if the re added presence of Red Dead Redemption 2 may not thrill long time subscribers who have seen it come and go before, the overall package still looks commercially stronger and easier to recommend.
For Premium subscribers, Time Crisis is also a smart addition. While it is only 1 classic title this month, it is a recognizable arcade name with long standing PlayStation history, which gives the update a little more identity than a lesser known catalog pick would have. Taken together, May’s PS Plus additions look like a solid retention move from Sony, balancing one large new era Ubisoft release, one returning Rockstar heavyweight, and several mid tier titles that can still find new life inside the subscription model.
Do you think Red Dead Redemption 2 being re added is still a win for PS Plus, or would you rather Sony use that slot for a completely new catalog surprise?
