PS Plus Extra Gets A Massive RPG Boost In June With Final Fantasy XVI
PlayStation’s June 2026 PS Plus Extra lineup is one of the strongest catalog updates of the year, led by Final Fantasy XVI, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and several major narrative driven releases. The latest PlayStation Plus Game Catalog update for June 2026, and this month’s lineup gives Extra and Premium subscribers a strong mix of RPGs, action games, narrative adventures, simulation, and classic rhythm gameplay. The headline addition is Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix’s dark fantasy RPG that originally launched in 2023. Its arrival on PS Plus Extra gives more players a chance to experience Clive Rosfield’s story, Valisthea’s Eikon driven conflict, and one of the most cinematic entries in the Final Fantasy series.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance also joins the catalog, giving subscribers another deep RPG option with a grounded medieval setting, large scale quests, and heavy narrative focus. With both Final Fantasy XVI and Kingdom Come: Deliverance in the same month, June becomes a strong value update for players looking for long form RPG experiences.
For players wanting something faster, Sonic X Shadow Generations adds platforming action with both Sonic and Shadow content. Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings another story focused experience, while Black Desert adds MMORPG depth from Pearl Abyss, the studio behind Crimson Desert.
The June lineup also includes Farming Simulator 25 and Blades of Fire, giving the catalog more variety beyond RPG and narrative titles. Premium subscribers also get Gitaroo Man through the Classics Catalog, adding a PlayStation 2 rhythm game to the month’s update.
The main frustration is that Premium only gets 1 Classics addition this month. Gitaroo Man is a welcome pick, but for players paying for the highest PS Plus tier, Sony still needs to make the Classics Catalog feel more consistent.
June is a strong month for PS Plus Extra, especially for RPG fans. Final Fantasy XVI and Kingdom Come: Deliverance alone can deliver dozens of hours of gameplay, while Life is Strange: Double Exposure and Black Desert expand the catalog with very different types of narrative and online experiences.
The Extra tier continues to look like the best value inside PS Plus. The Premium tier, however, still needs stronger Classics support. Adding only 1 classic game is better than nothing, but Sony has a deep legacy library and should be using it more aggressively.
For now, this is still one of the better PS Plus catalog updates of 2026. If you missed Final Fantasy XVI or want a reason to return to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, June is a solid month to keep the subscription active.
Which June PS Plus game are you downloading first, Final Fantasy XVI, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, or Sonic X Shadow Generations?
