Popular Survival Game Enshrouded to Launch ‘Wake of the Water’ Update on November 10

German developer Keen Games has announced that its hit survival game Enshrouded will receive its largest free content update yet, titled “Wake of the Water,” arriving on November 10. This major update adds long-requested features such as dynamic water, swimming, fishing, and underwater basebuilding, significantly expanding the world’s interactivity and creativity.

As shown in the official trailer, Wake of the Water introduces a range of new aquatic systems. Players will now be able to water plants using watering cans or irrigation, terraform underwater areas, and even build entire bases beneath the surface. The update also brings new wildlife, including Veilwater Snapjaws, crabs, and capybaras, which can be tamed to lounge around player bases, adding a cozy new touch to settlements.

Beyond the water-based additions, Wake of the Water delivers a full-scale rebalance of Enshrouded’s systems. Weapons, armor, rings, and food have all been adjusted to provide a more refined gameplay experience.

  • Weapons: Stats now properly match visuals and names. For example, Ice Coated Daggers finally deal ice damage instead of just cut and pierce. Durability now scales with both level and rarity, ensuring longer usability.

  • Loot and Crafting: Enemies now drop a wider variety of weapons ranging from common to legendary, scaled to their level. Players can also craft lore weapons at any stage and item level, allowing upgrades for favorites like the Whailing Blade and reducing RNG frustration.

  • Gameplay Tweaks: Passive HP, stamina, and mana regeneration have been fine-tuned, with slower recovery in mid-to-late game stages to encourage preparation and strategic play using potions and meals.

Additionally, Wake of the Water introduces new consumables and decorative items, as well as quality-of-life improvements such as chest and sign labeling. A long-standing exploit that allowed players to repeatedly loot chests after server reloads has also been fixed.

With a player base exceeding four million, Enshrouded continues to grow as it moves toward its planned 1.0 release on PC and consoles in 2026. The Wake of the Water update marks a major milestone for Keen Games, demonstrating the studio’s commitment to refining mechanics, improving balance, and expanding the scope of its world before the official launch.

Whether you plan to dive back in this November or wait for the full release, Enshrouded’s new wave of features looks set to make an even bigger splash in the survival genre.

Will you be returning to explore the new water systems, or are you holding out for the 1.0 release?
