Persona-Inspired Tactical RPG Demonschool Launches September 3 on PC and Consoles

Demonschool, the tactical role-playing game from developer Necrosoft Games and publisher Ysbryd Games, is officially set to launch on September 3, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X ond Xbox Series S. The announcement marks a triumphant return for a title that was delayed indefinitely last year, leaving many fans uncertain about its future.

Revealed via Japan Indie World, the release date was accompanied by a new short trailer showcasing its retro-inspired visuals, strategic combat, and some of the fifteen playable characters, each equipped with distinct fighting styles. The footage also highlights the game’s dynamic battle system, which blends tactical grid-based movement with fast-paced combo mechanics, set against a stylishly eerie backdrop.

Demonschool has been in development for several years, drawing clear inspiration from Persona and other classic Japanese RPGs while carving its own identity through a fusion of supernatural storytelling, school-life elements, and uniquely animated pixel art. At one point, the project appeared to have stalled entirely, but its revival last year complete with a well-received playable demo proved the concept’s strength, particularly its inventive combat and distinctive atmosphere.

With its mix of strategic depth, memorable characters, and retro aesthetic, Demonschool is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing indie RPG releases of the year. Fans eager for a fresh twist on the genre won’t have to wait long to enroll.

Will you be trying Demonschool on launch day, or are you waiting to see if it lives up to its Persona-inspired promise?
