OpenAI Could Become a Major Buyer of Amazon Trainium AI Chips as Part of a $10 Billion Investment

The artificial intelligence sector continues to attract unprecedented levels of capital as leading players race to secure compute resources at scale. Among the most active organizations in this landscape is OpenAI, which has been forming strategic relationships across the semiconductor and cloud ecosystem. According to a report from The Information, Amazon is now reportedly planning a ten billion US dollar investment in OpenAI, a deal that could see OpenAI become one of the largest external users of Amazon’s Trainium AI chips to date.

The reported Amazon investment would further expand the already extensive network of technology giants backing OpenAI.
