NINJA GAIDEN 4 to Receive ‘The Two Masters’ DLC in Early 2026
KOEI TECMO’s Team Ninja has confirmed that NINJA GAIDEN 4, set to launch on October 21, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, will be followed by a major DLC expansion titled “The Two Masters”, scheduled for release in early 2026.
The announcement came from Game Director Masakazu Hirayama during his interview on the Official Xbox Podcast, recorded at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Hirayama revealed that The Two Masters DLC will expand the game with new story content, weapons, and additional post-game challenges, offering even more intense action for players who complete the base game.
According to Hirayama, both Ryu Hayabusa and Yakumo will receive exclusive new weapons in the DLC, each designed to reflect their personalities and fighting styles.
“Yakumo’s new weapon captures his personality and expressive abilities in combat,” Hirayama explained. “Ryu’s weapon, on the other hand, has a more precise and high-speed nature, allowing players to unleash devastating and skillful techniques.”
Each weapon will introduce its own mechanics and unique combo possibilities, encouraging players to experiment with fresh playstyles.
The story content in The Two Masters takes place after the events of the main campaign, presenting a new narrative told from the dual perspectives of Ryu and Yakumo. This continuation aims to deepen both characters’ arcs and explore their connection as master and apprentice.
Beyond the narrative additions, Team Ninja will also include new post-game challenge content, separate from the existing Ninja Trials featured in the base game. These new challenges are expected to push even veteran players’ reflexes and mastery to the limit.
The Two Masters DLC will be available to all players who purchase the NINJA GAIDEN 4 Deluxe Edition or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade. The Deluxe Edition costs $20 more than the standard release and grants access to the upcoming DLC once it launches.
Team Ninja stated that NINJA GAIDEN 4’s base campaign offers between 15 and 20 hours of gameplay, with The Two Masters expected to significantly extend the total playtime, though the exact length was not disclosed.
The reveal of post-launch support reassures fans that Team Ninja is committed to expanding NINJA GAIDEN 4 beyond its release, keeping the series’ trademark high-speed, high-difficulty action alive well into 2026.
