New 007 First Light Trailer Reveals Grammy Winner Lenny Kravitz as Pirate Villain Bawma
After an early leak from the official 007 First Light account, IO Interactive has formally confirmed that Grammy winning artist Lenny Kravitz will portray Bawma, the primary antagonist in the upcoming James Bond game 007 First Light. This marks Kravitz’s first ever role in a video game and his first portrayal of a villain, adding a notable milestone to his acting career.
The trailer shown during The Game Awards 2025 provides the first extended look at Kravitz’s menacing performance. Bawma commands a remote black market city called Aleph, an illicit hub in Africa built under his control. He appears as a charismatic yet brutal pirate lord complete with alligators he uses to intimidate and threaten his enemies. The new footage showcases Bawma’s dangerous presence and offers a glimpse into the criminal empire Bond will confront in the unfolding narrative.
While Aleph may not be the final destination in IO Interactive’s original James Bond storyline, the city is clearly a pivotal location in the game’s worldbuilding and progression. The cinematic tone and environmental scale featured in the trailer reinforce IO Interactive’s ambition to craft a unique Bond experience with a strong blend of espionage, intrigue, and character driven tension.
007 First Light is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S on March twenty seven 2026 and is rapidly becoming one of next year’s most anticipated narrative action titles.
