Nacon Connect Returns on May 7 as Insolvency Concerns Continue Following Spiders Closure

Nacon is moving forward with its delayed summer showcase despite growing concern around its financial stability and the future of several studios under its umbrella. The company has now confirmed that Nacon Connect 2026 will air on May 7, 2026, after previously postponing the event earlier this year during its insolvency process. The updated broadcast date and event timing were shared through Nacon’s official channels, with the publisher confirming the showcase will begin at 11 AM PST, 2 PM EST, 7 PM BT, and 8 PM CET.

The timing of the announcement is hard to separate from the wider corporate situation around the company. In recent days, Spiders, the studio behind GreedFall and Steelrising, officially shut down after Nacon failed to secure a buyer following insolvency proceedings. Multiple industry reports now indicate that Spiders has ceased operations entirely, making the return of Nacon Connect feel far more complicated than a routine publisher showcase.

As announced, this year’s event will feature new game reveals, accessory updates, and gameplay footage from several upcoming titles, including The Mound, Edge of Memories, Endurance Motorsport Series, and Hunter: The Reckoning Deathwish. That lineup reflects some changes from the event’s original March window. Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, for example, is no longer positioned as one of the featured upcoming titles after its launch in April, while Hunter: The Reckoning Deathwish has since joined the slate following its more recent reveal.

Nacon itself has not paired the event announcement with any substantial new statement on its restructuring status. Instead, the publisher simply posted, “Sorry for the delay… but we’re finally back,” in its announcement on X. That brief message may have been enough to confirm the event’s return, but it does little to address the much bigger question hanging over the showcase: how stable is the company behind it.

From a games industry perspective, that uncertainty is now part of the event’s identity. Nacon can still present new trailers, gameplay sequences, and hardware announcements, but the audience watching on May 7 will likely be thinking about more than release windows and reveal trailers. The bigger issue is whether the projects shown are backed by teams that will remain intact long enough to deliver them. Reports continue to indicate that 3 of Nacon’s subsidiaries remain in insolvency proceedings, and unless buyers are found, more closures could follow.

That makes this Nacon Connect one of the more unusual publisher showcases in recent memory. On one side, it is a sign that the company is still trying to project continuity, reassure partners, and keep its pipeline visible. On the other, every trailer now arrives with an unavoidable question mark attached. If more studios are cut or restructuring deepens, the titles presented next week could end up representing a future that never fully materializes.

For players, press, and industry watchers, that tension will likely define the showcase more than any single announcement. Nacon Connect may still deliver strong looking games and promising updates, but the real story surrounding the event is whether Nacon can keep enough of its publishing and development structure intact to bring those ambitions to market.

Do you think Nacon Connect can still build confidence in the company’s future, or will the studio closure concerns overshadow everything shown at the event?
