Monster Hunter Wilds, Rise and World Will Drop Windows 10 Support Next Month
CAPCOM has confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds, along with its predecessors Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter World, will officially drop Windows 10 support starting October 14, 2025. The announcement was made in a Steam update, aligning with Microsoft’s broader phase-out of the aging operating system.
According to CAPCOM, the three Monster Hunter titles will remain playable on Windows 10 systems after the cutoff date. However, the publisher will no longer guarantee compatibility with future game patches or system updates. Support will only be offered for issues based on conditions prior to the end of Windows 10 support.
For Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter World, this move is not expected to create major issues, as both games have long ceased receiving active updates. However, the situation is more critical for Monster Hunter Wilds, which continues to receive regular fixes and updates. CAPCOM warned that future patches may impact stability or performance on Windows 10, and Wilds is already known for optimization struggles since launch.
Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration and Title Update
Alongside the support update, CAPCOM detailed the next Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, which brings an exciting collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV.
Key highlights include:
Omega Planetes introduced as a new monster encounter.
Dark Knight Hunter Armor and Pictomancy spells available as themed gear.
Arch-tempered Nu Udra added as the focus of a new event quest.
These additions expand the endgame content while tying Monster Hunter Wilds into one of the most beloved MMORPGs on the market.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Players on PC running Windows 10 are advised to plan for the transition, particularly if they intend to keep up with Wilds’ future patches and collaborations.
Are you still running Windows 10 for gaming, and will this push you to finally upgrade before Monster Hunter Wilds updates leave it behind?
