Marvel Rivals Season 6 Brings Deadpool to the Roster in January 2026 as Season 5.5

Marvel Rivals made a high energy appearance at The Game Awards 2025 with NetEase Games unveiling a new cinematic trailer confirming that Deadpool will officially join the roster with the launch of Season 6 on January 16, 2026. While the announcement itself was widely anticipated, the presentation delivered exactly the level of spectacle expected from both the event and the Merc with a Mouth. The reveal was showcased through the Season 6 cinematic trailer, featuring Deadpool breaking the fourth wall throughout in classic fashion.

Ahead of that launch, NetEase has already rolled out Season 5.5, which is available right now for all players. This mid season update expands the roster once again by adding Rogue as a new Vanguard hero, following Gambit’s arrival at the start of Season 5. With Rogue entering the battlefield, Marvel Rivals continues to strengthen its X Men representation while further diversifying team compositions and frontline playstyles.

NetEase has confirmed that more detailed information surrounding Season 6, officially titled Night at the Museum, along with Deadpool’s full gameplay kit, abilities, and cosmetics, will be shared closer to release. Until then, Season 5.5 provides plenty of fresh content for players to engage with during the holiday period.

One of the standout features of Season 5.5 is the return of Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival. This year’s event introduces a brand new holiday themed map called Jeffland, designed specifically around a new three way brawl mode. The event also adds three unique Jeff builds, each offering a distinct skill set that alters gameplay flow and strategic options. Seasonal winter and holiday themed skins are also available, ensuring the festive atmosphere extends across every match.

As with every seasonal update, Season 5.5 also includes a wide range of balance adjustments, system improvements, and bug fixes. This update introduces enhancements to the spectator system, new emotes, and fixes for player statistics that were previously not registering correctly. NetEase has outlined the most important changes in its latest developer breakdown, through the Dev Vision update video, with full patch notes detailing additional refinements and optimizations.

With Deadpool confirmed for early 2026 and Season 5.5 already live, Marvel Rivals continues to build momentum as NetEase steadily expands its hero roster, live service features, and event driven content pipeline following a strong showing at The Game Awards 2025.

Are you jumping into Season 5.5 now, or are you waiting to unleash Deadpool when Season 6 arrives next year?
